Main Objective:

Solicit companies that ship freight and establish long-term relationships with the ultimate goal being of becoming an extension of their company, operating as their full service freight provider.


Responsibilities:
  • Prospect new customers through cold calling, warm leads, referrals, etc.
  • Establish main points of contact with customers, connect on a personal level for the betterment of the business relationship
  • Adapt and tailor our business approach to suit customer’s needs
  • Research customer’s main business, develop a solid understanding as to what their company does, what obstacles they can encounter (in relation to freight). Work together to ensure that Trek Freight is doing what they can do on their end to help them overcome those obstacles
  • Provide estimates to customers based off of market conditions and availability
  • Work in conjunction with the operations department to make intuitive decisions about market conditions that drive pricing
  • Notify customer when Trek does not have availability for particular lanes, negotiate pricing on more options (i.e. flexibility, money)
  • Keep an open line of communication with the customer, providing up to date details about their shipments
  • Anticipate potential issues with customer orders and work in conjunction with the operations department to make decisions and troubleshoot
  • Make decisions on accepting or rejecting freight that is offered by customers
